This Privacy Policy explains how Scout ("Scout", "we", "us"), operated by Scout LTD, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Scout website and services. If you use the Scout browser extension, the Extension Privacy Policy also applies.
Information we collect
- Account information, your name, email, and authentication details.
- Resume and profile data, the resume, work history, and job preferences you provide so Scout can match and apply to jobs.
- Application data, records of the jobs you apply to and the tailored documents generated for them.
- Usage data, device and analytics information used to operate and improve the service.
How we use your information
- To find jobs that match your resume and submit applications you approve.
- To generate tailored resumes and cover letters for each application.
- To operate, secure, and improve Scout, and to provide support.
How we share information
We submit your application materials to the employers and job platforms you choose to apply to. When you use our Human Assistant service, the assistant you select can access your submitted jobs, profile, and application materials solely to provide that service, under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
We also rely on service providers, under agreements that protect your data:
- Supabase, database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel, website and application hosting.
- Heroku (Salesforce), hosting for our application-automation service.
- OpenAI and Anthropic, resume analysis and generation of tailored application documents.
- PostHog, product analytics that help us understand how Scout is used.
- Google Analytics, website, acquisition, conversion, payment-lifecycle, and subscription-retention analytics.
Data retention and your rights
We keep your account, resume, and application data for as long as your account is active. You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. To delete your account and associated data, see our account deletion page; we delete personal data within 30 days of a verified request, except where the law requires us to keep it longer. Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR or CCPA, including access, correction, and deletion.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transmission over HTTPS and access controls that limit production data to authorised personnel. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
